Eco Waste and Recycling is pleased to commence garbage collection services in your community, beginning Friday, October 2, 2015. Your garbage collection days will be every Tuesday and Friday. Following is information about our services and collection guidelines for your convenience:
SOLID WASTE COLLECTION
Household refuse will be collected two days a week, on Tuesday and Friday. Trash receptacles, bags or bundles (not weighing more than 40 pounds) shall be placed at their collection points (curbside/garage door) by 7:00 am on the designated collection days. Household Refuse is defined as waste generated inside the house.
HEAVY TRASH/BULKY WASTE
Furniture, Electronics and Appliances i.e., (stoves, refrigerators, washer and dryers), and other heavy trash items will be picked up each week on Friday. Each home is allowed one heavy trash item per week. However, we will not pick up hazardous waste, carpet, and construction debris resulting from remodeling or demolition operations. By Federal Law, refrigerators and freezers or any other items containing Freon must be drained of Freon and have an accompanying bill to validate such service was performed.
YARD AND TREE WASTE
Tree, shrub and brush trimmings must be bundled in lengths no greater than four (4) feet and weighing less than forty (40) pounds and branches with a maximum diameter of three (3) inches, and placed at the curb as part of normal collections. The bundling is required to allow quick pick up and size limitations are required to avoid damaging the equipment in the crushing process. Yard waste is collected on Friday with heavy trash items.
For reasons of government restrictions, personnel and community safety, and protection of equipment, the following items cannot be collected: gasoline, motor oil and used oil filters, paint and other similar liquids, vehicle tires and batteries, and large pieces of metal such as car fenders or engines. Debris from construction and remodeling such as carpet, rocks, bricks, concrete, dirt, sand, gravel, roofing, lumber, fence boards, and large pieces of glass also cannot be collected. Potentially dangerous materials such as sharp objects, glass, metal, and the like should be properly identified and separated from other trash and/or double wrapped to avoid potential injury to the loader.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Collection of refuse shall not start before 7:00 am or continue after 5:00 pm on each service day.
Eco Waste and Recycling observes the following Holidays:
New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
Contractor may decide to observe any or all of the above-mentioned holidays by suspension of collection service on the Holiday. In the event the holiday falls on your pick-up day, collection service will be picked up the next service day following the holiday.
We are very happy to include you among the family of communities proudly served by Eco Waste and Recycling.
Remember, our goal is to take care of your community as if we lived there!
The Beautification Committee is hosting a Yard of the Month competition for the summer months, beginning in May. Every month members of the Beautification Committee will drive around the neighborhood to judge whose yard looks the best.
Each section of Atascocita South will have a winning yard. The winning yard wins a yard sign for display all month long and a gift certificate to Lowes of Atascocita!
This incentive is meant to be a friendly competition among neighbors, and it is a way to keep our entire community looking nice during the summer months.
Good luck and may the best yard win!
